We have previously from LinkedIn linked to Finna Sensors series on moisture control and measurement prior to and during kiln drying of wood. The new part now published, gives an important insight in having control of the lumber/timber moisture in the dry sorting and planer mills.
It is important for several reasons. One is the optimisation of the grade yield in for instance Dynagrade and Precigrader. Another is to be in (moisture) control for CLT, finger jointing and glulam production. A third is for the mill to avoid delivering too wet or even moldy products.
